Don't have the vise you're looking at. Here is an alternative that is also cheaper.

Just do a search for Parrot Vise.

I bought the parrot vise a couple months ago and like it.
It’s a handy vise but not for heavy duty work.

I'm a sucker for nice equipment. With that said it's a super nice piece.

If its going to be strictly for guns, look at guitar or pattern makers vises. I've got one from grizzly that has soft jaws built in.

Real Avid has a new gun vise out, $300. Can’t comment on quality just saw a video but looks nice.
