I guess that answers that question. I hope all those guys shooting cowboy action are cleaning those guns. Does this stuff at least give a warning on the bottle?

Was there any oil/ rust prohibitor on the new nails? I think mixing in some powder and burning it off would tend to allow oxidation to occur a touch more rapidly than the fresh nails. I've never used trail boss, so I can't speak to it one way or another. This part of your test just seemed to be able to be explained in another manner.
