I'm in the market for a compact hunting tripod. I don't have the budget for RRS or anything up there. Size and spec wise the pig short tripod http://stores.hogsaddle.com/short-pig0311-gs-field-tripod-od-green/ seems to fit the bill other than it being heavy, but I think that will weight will have to be realistic considering I don't want to spend a lot on this. Is there anything similar to this tripod in in the price range? say under $200.
It will have a direct mounted reaper grip which I use on and old manfrotto right now, but its a really old one and the legs don't splay so the lowest it goes about a kneeling position(I bought this one back in the day for spotting scope).
Ideally I'd like to have one that I could use for standing also, but the size and weight and getting one tall enough to work well with my height (6'9") is hard and probably expensive. So for now I think I'd like a more compact for hunting since I'd mostly be shooting from a sitting, maybe kneeling position.

Does anyone have any experience with these that can say GO or NO GO?

I use a cheap Neewer carbon fiber tripod from amazon. Put on a leveling base and it held my 14lb rifle no problem. I used a BT56 all the way at the end of the handguard so it was almost the entire weight of the rifle off center.

For your price range, the RT8585C from Innorel is what you are looking for (I have the larger RT90C, its bigger brother). Well made carbon fiber tripod, aboiut 5 lbs and rated for 44 lbs. Under 170 shipped without a head and 250 shipped with a bal head. Do not forget you get both the $3 new customer coupon from Aliexpress and 5-10 off from the store. They ship DHL and you get it in about a week.

This is what I use for my coyote hunting. Very light, not the most stable but plenty for hunting purposes. It’s a slick brand
