In a conundrum right now. Recently purchased a Tikka T3 Hunter in 300WM off the PX. Was in the process of building a 280AI for hunting. Now I feel like I should just build off of the Tikka and customize it. All I would need to do is swap the stock and barrel. Anyone want to provide valuable insight or play devils advocate? The stock for the 280AI will be here in a couple week but I am still able to cancel.

I say build the 280AI. It doesn't hurt to have and additional rifle. Plus building a rifle is well satisfaction especially if it shoots well. Can never have too many!!!

I agree that you can’t have too many. I think it depends on your situation and what you’re needing/wanting right now. Tikkas are great and will treat you well for whatever you decide to do with it.

    A win mag has a .540 bolt face and a 280 has a .473 bolt face.

So it’s a bolt swap in addition to the stock, barrel, mags.

They're two completely different rifles. I have the Tikka 300WM now, still piecing the 280AI together before I send to GAP to get assembled with a Templar v2.
