Rifle Scopes Hunting scope

Friends in the market for a deer hunting scope with a budget of $1000.

He has an old 3-12 power now but wants more magnification and good low light. Most shots will be out to 300 yards. Only has a couple places that he can hunt to possibly have a 500 yard shot.

Wants more magnification b/c of eyesight. Old age sucks. He does not go to the range to shoot for fun it’s just for hunting.

Any suggestions?

Leupold vx-6 3-18x44 is a great scope for hunting.

Take a look at some of Tract’s scopes. Nice simple duplex or BDC reticles. Outstanding glass and they are Japanese made scopes. They also have outstanding low light performance. This is their top of the line hunting scope. They are also running 10% off right now. I have two of the Toric 30mm HD’s and they are outstanding optics. I believe the one I linked to has the same glass.

You can’t beat the vx5 or vx6 offerings from Leupold in a hunting scope.

“Made in America” always looks nice as well.

VX5hd, if hunting is the main use then go for a firedot reticle.
