The previous Sheriff in Orange County Ca, Mike Corona, was sent to prison. Feds charged him with corruption and witness tampering.

To answer 500g's question, "is broward county better managed than most", the answer is a very resounding and strong, "HELL NO !".
They host a yearly venue I frequently attend, and by my personal observation, I form said answer.... I know several good people there, and several less than good... just sayin.
