If you already own a 308 and a 308 based 6,5 like Creedmore or 260 rem, then there is absolutely no logical reason to get the same cartridge with a 7mm bullet. 7mm08 is a magnificent caliber but it will not go longer or be more precise than what you already own. It will fall somewhere in between energie and balistic wise.
Buuuut buying a new weapon is rarely logic for us, and I really think the 7mm-08 is the best variant of the 308 family. Get it with a 1-9" twist if you cannot help yourself! 162 ELD and 150 Scenar L are really really good bullets that will be accurate for at least 1200m.
