    The Land of Oz
I'ive been wanting to get into a 6.5 caliber for a while. Currently I have two custom rifles one a match 308 and the other a 300 wsm, I've been heavy into the 30 calibers. Honestly they both shoot like lasers and I won't sell them or rebarrel them so I have two choice another custom or a quality factory rig.

This is were I need a little help, it's probably to late to do anything different but I put my name on a j Allen chassis and a barreled action in 6.5 creedmoor from Core shooting supply. The action will be a Deviant, with either a Hawk Hill or Bartlien barrel and an apa little bastard break, cericoated and the action micro slicked, I intend on grabbing another Huber trigger and there ya have it.

I'll have about the same money in it as my last custom but I should have all the parts in two to three weeks instead of 4-12 months for a custom. This is a different route then I've gone before so I'm just a little unsure, just looking for some input as to whether I'd be better off doing the custom or would this be just as good? Same money in a fraction of the time! Seems like a win win to me, am I missing anything? Thank you!

Agreed. Those are all high quality components, and a competent smith putting the barrel and action together. Drop the barreled action in the chassis and go shoot.

Sounds like a damn nice build to me, you're using quality components. Not much else to do but mount a scope, do some load work and then start shooing that bad boy.

Appreciate the replies guess my OCD kicked in, I'll probably do another Kahles with the MSR reticle and the left side windage. Should have the stock by this weekend, I might bolt my 308 barreled action in there until I get the 6.5 creed b-action, getting ready to place an order for the RRS tripod mount for the J Allen, should be rock solid. I picked up a anshutz rail for my T4 Manners, guess I'll run it over to Manners in KC and have them inlet the stock for me while I'm waiting. It's only money, right! I'll definitely post some pics when it's all done!

Good grief, right, it all sounds pretty darn custom to me, I mean a J Allen chassis, that about as sweet as they come, a deviant action, etc. I hate you.....;)

Parts are rolling in, the J Allen stock appears to be well thought out, looks to be built like a tank and The fit and finish is excellent. I'm really pleased, still waiting on the creedmoor barreled action, hope it'll be in soon. Untill then I threw my surgeon action in, I got the RRS tripod bracket installed, it makes a pretty rock solid connection to the tripod.
