I found some Ambidextrous Reciecer sets, what do you think?

I am researching completely ambi reciever sets to buy for an 300 BO SBR or 6.5 Grendel build (not an SBR). I wanted get your opinions and suggestions. I am not looking for a magpul bad lever.

1. American Defense is in the lead now. Although I dislike the aesthetics of the lower, they have great set up for ambidextrous everything.

2. Mega arms is a close second, I love the look of their billet set

I have the american defense and it is awesome. I love being able to lock the bolt back with my trigger finger. I am picking up another soon since I sbr'd the first one.

I can assume it works as advertised, and that function is great. How is fit and finish?
Is there anything you don't like about the receiver set? Any complaints?

I have CMT ambi set, and it's great. Fit and finish is excellent, function is excellent, and the CMT uppers are a bit stronger, like the VLTOR upper... reinforced.

I also really like the Spikes Tactical gen 2 billet set. they look very nice

That American Defense lower looks real nice, and I like the placement of the ambi bolt catch button.

How can you tell the CMT upper is reinforced? What advantages will that give it?

You can see the area around the cam pin is fatter and heavier. Same as the VLTOR Muir upper receivers. There are youtube videos illustrating some billet uppers are stronger than forged. Advantages include a more rigid upper, and that can help in accuracy, but I'm sure that's splitting hairs. A stronger upper can help in the event of an out of battery detonation. I'm sure you will be happy no matter what you go with... all your picks look very good.

I purchased a CMT AR-10 receiver set from Rainier a few months back. When I got it all was good, but after looking it over I noticed some fairly severe machining marks on lower near take down pins. I called CMT, and they said it was normal to have machining marks. I thought to myself have you never seen a Mega set? I purchased it from Rainier Arms. They took it back, and they were gonna send me another. After looking at all the ones they had, they all had the same machining marks. I ended up getting my money refunded. This may have been a bad batch, but after what the guy said at CMT, they will never get any of my money!! I know this isn't the AR-15 set you are looking at, but if they feel that way about the AR-10, I won't buy their products. Mega is my first and only choice.

I have a MEGA lower but I used a BCM complete upper on it. If I were doing a 300BO I'd probably get a KAC SR-30 lower complete. They are reasonably priced considering everything that comes with it. http://www.smallarmsales.com/product-p/31742.htm

The fit and finish is pretty good on it. It was a "duty" series and honestly I can't tell why it is. All of my uppers fit in it pretty well. As far as the operation of locking the bolt back and releasing the bolt they are both really smooth. I ended up getting used to it very fast and my only problem is that now I want another for when i go out of state for matches and what not. The mag well is a little larger than a plain lower which is nice. The only issue I've had was the screw that they send with it for the bolt catch to hing on had a lot of loctite for such a small screw making it difficult to install. I just scraped some of it off and had no problems. After typing this you pushed me over the edge to buy another. I can't really think of anything I don't like about it really sorry but I am pretty easy to please besides the full ambi controls (lock back also not just release) I wasn't looking for much. I guess maybe it'd be nice if it was set up for short throw safeties but I had already removed the little pin on them.

Thank you for all your advice. I may use two of the three receivers. I am wanting to do a 300 BO and 6.5 Grendel semi auto build. American Defense for the blackout, SBR build. CMT or Mega for the Grendel build. Time will tell, thank you for your input all of it is appreciated.
