I need my Remington 700 Long action trued/ blueprinted?

I live in Southern California. Who will do the best job in a timely manner on my action? Is there anyone out here on the west coast that has a good rep and will do it right? Was thinking about GA Precision but I'd rather not send it all the way across the states and wait so long.. Also, do I need to include my bolt when I send it so that it can be worked on as well? Or is it only my action that needs truing up?

There is a group buy on truing going on here in the forum that you may want to get in on, check that forum there is a thread on it, but they are not in Ca. Next closest to you that I can recommend is Phoenix Custom Rifles.

Randall at ar15barrels.com has, and I would not hesitate to use him, but he mostly focuses on ARs.

MT Guns does good work.

There are some in SD/OC but I don't remember them off the top of my head.

That is a big maybe. It all depends on his caliber, having the parts ready to go, etc. And they will ONLY do the action work if he has a new barrel and will do the chambering at the same time. And yes, they need the bolt to do the work.

as far as I heard he is not accepting work at this time, or has a very long wait. So not really what the OP is looking for "timely". I have never heard a negative thing about his work otherwise.

edit- from his facebook page, march 26th post : "Because of this I am no longer taking on any customer supplied parts work, bits and pieces of work or repair/salvage work on existing rifles. The only work I will take orders right now is complete rifle builds and the projected completion time frame for delivery is 1 year from date of deposit. "

I can't speak on behalf of Marc, and you would have to speak with him personally regarding turn around time... But based of my phone conversation with him this morning, I feel it might be worth an email...just my .02

Well I still need to get a barrel and a new bolt and new bottom metal and a stock and ship it all and let them do their thing. It sucks when you're a starving 19 year old working 70 hours a week and can't afford it all at once haha... I've got a gorgeous 700 action... next step is a barrel.. I'll get there eventually...

Ted's custom shop LLC. He is pretty fast and reasonable and can paint it if you need. I have had them build me 5 rifles in the last year and they all are less then .5 M o A. he is located in Weatherford okLahoma. I wouldn't worry so much about shipping it across the states. Your action will fit in a small flat rate box and be there in a couple days. Good luck with your project.

Ya but he will be put at the bottom of the list and not be gotten to until October at the going rate. He is pumping them out at an unbelievable rate but there are a shit ton of people in line.
