I have some thermal and NV stuff already but I want a scope to put on a dedicated rifle that can PID a pig vs a yote within 400 yards or so. I really don’t want something flimsy that will break. Simpler is better.

The Halo-LR seems like the obvious pick, but I am not current on thermal scopes (usually only interested in clip ons). Is the correct option? Also, if any vendors here have one they want to sell me, I’m ready to buy. Thanks so much for any insight as usual!

I'm just curious as to what the advantages are of this bolt over the Halo LR?

Compare there specs , for tech data.
Ergonomics go to Bolt IMHO although this is individual. A round site picture with better display and res. also freeze frame for zeroing.
Think of a brick compared to a beam as far as weight displacement sitting on a rifle .
Also 5 year warranty and $5400.
Down side is it doesnt look cool ... or might not be best choice on gas gun if your planning on jumping out of a bird .

I just don't see the appeal of going to China's offering over USA made. Yes Ergonomics are better for bolt, but I don't have an issue currently.
The display is better, granted it is producing that image from the china core and not BAE core. So this could be a marginal improvement if any.
Something tells me you are going to need the 5 year warranty, but no one is certain what Nvision will do when the first Halo LR's become 5 years old. I've asked and Nvision has basically told me to not worry too much about it.

Now if you are going to talk about the new HD core, then I can see the benefit, but also an issue with spending $18k on a china made product.

Not to get off topic but I am curious why Iray USA decided to not import CH 50 V2..
seems like with an added mount this will be hard to beat for $3400 ish
