I purchased a ColT H-Bar way back in 92 or 93 is it a pre-Ban ?

I have a large pin Colt with no flash hider etc. But has a pistol grip and high cap magazines and I dot think its pre ban. Its kinda blurry field of explanation from what I have read. Its very goofy but I wish I knew if mine was as well. But 92 93 works, so maybe.

Hoping someone can clarify for me as well.

I bought my 1st 2 AR's in 1998 and 99 , both colt's both no flash hider or bayonet lugs and the odd ball trigger pins ,also the front takedown pin is two piece screw type , so I guess they're considered made during the ban , still have them .both are shooters.

Here is mine, I have often wondered, so in case we learn, I'd like to know as well.

My Colt H-Bar has a large hole trigger pin. Is it a pre-ban AR-15?
If you bought it before 1994, it is a pre-ban.

Here below is some info I stole off of ARF.com that might help. And maybe @Molon can provide some insight as well. Colt has a serial # look-up, but it might not be of much help. I just ran my A2 lower, that was made during the early ban years (according to who I bought it from), through it and my mfg date couldn't be found.

Here is an updated HBAR data base. You fits into the later MH029XXX features rather then the earlier type. Trigger pins were switched to the bigger size starting with MH 006600. So yours should have these bigger trigger/hammer pins unless yours was an older COLT FIREARM DIVISION lower?

R6600

Serial numbers picks up were the SP1 left off, produced 1985-1990. Features are as such:

CM upper forge code, big hole slab side lower, no sear block, no auto sear cut in upper, small pin hammer/trigger pins, modern small forward assist, SP1 bolt carrier, bolt marked MPC with a space between the M and the P, blue extractor buffer, AR-15 A2 HBAR SPORTER, lower roll marked COLT’S FIREARM DIVISION, barrel stamped C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR, peel washer, A2 furniture, bayo lug

Not going to list features of each example, unless they are different then indicated above. The Delta HBAR, R6600DH was introduced in 1987.

215677 appeared in the May 1986 issue of American Rifleman
22151X

Mine also had the neutered lower that wouldn't accept a full auto carrier, that I had it unfucked years ago and put a colt Full BCG in it. Specialized Armament did a great job on that deal right here on Phx.

My Colt H-Bar has a large hole trigger pin. Is it a pre-ban AR-15?
I bought one cause they were banning the Colt AR 15...never really interested in them until the government ban.
Colt tried to appease the anti gun crowd. So they assembled the lower with harden pressed together trigger pins...so auto sears could not installed ....and bolts were opened on the bottom, for non full auto bolts....so it would be impossible for the average guy to make one full auto...so feared by the government.
But that did not matter, there was no appeasing the government.
Mine has since been transformed, a few parts exist from the original.
Just as a test, I did run it dry and dirty for 1000 rds and it ran 100%.

Don't say that out loud...during the ban there was a 10 yr prison sentence and huge fine for "unfucking it". They put hardened steel in there for that reason. So I'm sure It was definitely after the 10 yr ban, was lifted.
They can be cut with carbide endmill, a simple job...then you can install any trigger and a full auto bolt carrier, of your choice.
There was a time when auto sears were cheap and serial numbered and all ya to do is register it, and pay the tax.
