So I've had this rifle for about 2 months now and also finished sighting in my M41B and I wanted to do a competition between the two and this rifle clearly won. The rifle is a M1903a1 Marine Corps sniper clone built on a recovered drill rifle. The receiver is a Springfield 1927 in the 1.27m range. Barrel is a 12-44 High Standard that measures a 1 at the muzzle. Stock is a CMP C stock and the scope is the Malcom 8x. The circular steel target is at 300 yards and the silhouette is 500 yards. I amazed myself when I did a 2.48 inch group at 300 equaling .79 MOA using PPU. 500 wasn't sub MOA but I will take it. I went out again a few days later and while I didn't have the same amazing results, I still was impressed. I think my dope was a little off for 500 at 47 clicks so will try a little less next time as it was shooting high on the steel. The 2nd range session with this rifle have the black dot painted on the steel so I had a point to reference with the cross hairs. Very happy. Now the only issue is finding a vintage sniper match to compete in. At least Talladega is less than 6 hours away...
