Does anyone have a report or access to one on the ability to run PMAGs, EMAGs or Surefire hi-cap mags through an IAR? We're attempting to find a better and more reliable alternate to standard GI issue steel mags.

Our battalion gunner has told us that IARs are having issues running PMAGs through them effectively but we're not sure if that is a fact or a simple dislike of PMAGs in general.

Re: IAR magazine choice

The IAR does not use a standard STANAG 4179 magwell so you are limited to EMAG's which were designed for the 416 or the HK magazines.

The p mag won't fit as the HK uses a proprietary mag well that is centric to the British SA 80 mags and their blank round adapted mags. Functionally, the front of the mag well is longer. Use E mags. They work.
