Looking for a good rifle bag. I’ve seen a few nice ones, curious what the hide is using? Pics too, if you got em!
If you prefer/have a case, I’m interested in what I should go with if a bag is not the right choice.

if you are on a budget, want a bag/mat combo, and being able to carry it like a backpack, this might be an option.

That’s pretty sweet.
I looked at the Armageddon gear, tab, and savior. Not sure what the best route is.

I want it to hold a lot of extras, like support bags, ammo, and nick nacks

although allen company has been around since the 70s, i don't know where these are made.
i think AG stuff is made here if that matters more than price.

Literally like 5 threads down from this one... But anyway...

Best of both worlds here:

This is US made in Georgia. I have two, and probably need at least one more.

What are you going to use it for?

This one doesn't exactly turn into a shooting mat but it's really great otherwise. Lots of room but also a nice shape if you are dragging it along with nice padded straps for carrying that also tuck away. And made in the USA.

I have come full circle on gun cases.

I started with cheap Plano cases, then went to Pelican cases, then went to a Savior LRP rifle case, and now am at the point that I think a Bald Eagle soft case is all I need unless I am traveling long distances. Then I throw the rifle in the small case, then in the Pelican.

If I had it to do all over, I would just buy the armageddon or bald eagle cases.

My rifle is heavy already, I don't need a 40LB rifle case.

The best “Range Bag” I’ve found is one of the organizer toolboxes from Home Depot. I shoot USPSA/IDPA competitively and it’s perfect for organizing and keeping everything sorted and clean. I got tired of digging in actual bags trying to find one little thing. Granted, the negative about using a hard-sided container is that you can’t use it as a shooting bag, but if you’re on SH you’re probably using a dedicated shooting bag or a bipod anyways.

I won a Savior Specialist 55" in FDE earlier this year. I'd never really seen one in person before and they look better in person than online. Very very padded and rugged....I didn't look at the country of origin tag.....but it was a prize and I've come to really like it for my heavy gun. For my shorter bolt action 308 I run an Armageddon or an old black hawk tactical bag from WAY back.

I’m a big fan of the Eberlestock Sniper Sled drag bag and have one in dry earth, my favorite color of theirs.

Search first.
Ask second.

That's why it's relevant, this exact same question was asked just the other day.

Good luck in your search for a box to put a rifle in.

You must be fun at parties.......

If you don't like people talking on forums, maybe you should just not look at forums. However, you are the smarter one, so what do i know, right?

Your policing of the site is very helpful. Keeping those who know less than you from learning, and encouraging people, like me, to highjack other people's threads. Because we all know now - starting your own thread and possibly expanding on the original question would be ridiculous, and undermine the superiors wishes.

Sorry my genuine interest in gaining some knowledge through other's trials and tribulations on this sight has bothered you, and forced you to take time out of your day to reply to such a peasant. I didn't mean to step your toes, douchebag.

Doesn't really need to be a "drag bag". Feel like i might be buying more than what i need. I like the armageddon gear bag, maybe i just need to buy two. Get the best of both worlds.
