Rem. 700 VLS .820 dia. bbl at muzzle. Muzzle turned down and threaded to .565 Maj.Dia. thd. maybe 24 TPI. I am guessing 9/16 x 24 TPI. Thd. length about 3/4 maybe 7/8. I would like to get something to install there other than a thread protector.

So what is the procedure? I notice there are some flash hiders that double as quick connect can adaptors. Do you buy a blank and have the gunsmith drill and tap to fit? Maybe add a crush washer or peel washer to index the FH?

PS: I moved this post from another section after no response. Please excuse me if this is not the correct place.

You can get an OPS INC break in 9/16-24". It is timed though. Brownells carry em.
