I've got a Vudoo mounted in an MDT ACC chassis. The barrel length is 18 inches, so it only sticks out past the end of the chassis by 1.1"

Which creates a problem when trying to set up my Magnetospeed Sporter.

I've looked around and found mounts to attach a Magnetospeed to an ARCA rail, but they are expensive and I'm a cheap ass.

Does anyone know if I could attach a "barrel extension" to give me a few extra inches to work with?

I can't currently attach my Magnetospeed because there isn't enough barrel.

So could I purchase a barrel extension to attach the Magnetospeed to?

I've got a TBAC on order, but it's going to be a while.

Even with the ARCA rail choked up as far as it will go I'm thinking there isn't enough room for the back/thick part of the bayonete to get close enough under the barrel. You can add the spacers to go further away if you're running a can, but there is a minimum distance on a bare barrel...

Even with the ARCA getting the bayonete in the right spot the chassis is in the way and I think you're going to be too far from the barrel to pick up the shot.

I mount my V2 right on my can and it fits perfectly for correct distance to bore to pick up the shots. 9” can on my .260.

Mount the MS on top of the barrel. There looks to be enough room between the barrel and the chassis that you would maintain free float, even with the nylon strap threaded through the gap...

I received a fake Gemtech suppressor and installed it on the barrel. Now I find out that the Sporter doesn't really work on Rimfire rifles unless the barrel is relatively thin.

The Vudoo barrel is hung like a horse and the Sporter doesn't even work!

I should have just tried mounting the Sporter upside down first. I guess I'll try that next.

So the wall thickness of your fake can won’t allow A reading?

If you want I can turn it down for you. I’m just north of Cambridge..

I don't think it's wall thickness. I think it's more of how far the sensor in the Magnetospeed is away from the center of the bore.

According to Magnetospeed's website, the Sporter is only designed to work with a maximum barrel diameter of .850" where as the diameter of the fake can is about an inch in diameter.

gotcha. Well if your interested I’d turn it down to a smaller diameter for you.

I tried running the Magnetospeed upside down with similar results.

I even removed the rubber spacer and had the plastic housing in direct contact with the barrel to minimize the distance between the sensor and the barrel.

Anyone looking for a Sporter, I may have one listed in the PX shortly.
