If *you* as a SWAT or operator have cleared a building with innocents and known bad guys..

If the bad guy inside has no formal training, what’s their chance of survival once the calvary starts their entry and shots are fired?
How high is the chance of additional innocent bloodshed?

I don't know but what if he played a 3000 hours of war games on the internet no different then training on a Flight Simulator. Most of these shooters look and are gear up like they came off a military base. Have seen many in shorts and a tee shirt with there Father's 22 handgun lately.

    swat lol

most police are nothing more than ticket collectors and to think otherwise is foolish. group think and belief in overwhelming force has led to decay

Accurate, decisive hits are ALWAYS more desired than volume of fire when seconds matter in this case. Last year in Arkansas another incel nutjob was in the process of killing people in an apartment block when a hunter living across the street took aim with a bolt action rifle and fired one shot killing the perp dead on the spot. The only fatality in the Arkansas case was an elderly woman who tried to console and talk the perp into surrendering. For her efforts he shot her several times before being nailed in the melon with an elk round..

The answer to both is it depends. There are so many variables and sometimes it's just pure luck, both good and bad. In an actual active shooter, and I mean officers literally moving to gunfire, the chances of the bad guy getting ventilated are high. Death is also pretty much guaranteed, but sometimes the bad guy lives. The chances of additional innocent victims shedding blood is also high, depending on their proximity to the threat and the threat's intentions. With the piece of shit in Texas, the chances of additional innocent victims is incredibly high, but it should've been incumbent on those officers to make entry the second one or two got on scene and limit any "extra" casualties. We used to train that the second 4 officers arrived at the scene, the 4 of you form a squad and make every. Now we're training to have just one maybe two make entry just because time is clearly off the essence.

The other thing is it's probably going to be the regular patrol officers making entry and not waiting on tactical teams to arrive. By the time the callout starts, you're looking at 30 minutes, minimum, before everyone is mustered and rolling to the scene. As we saw in Texas, 30 minutes is a lifetime.

Nobody actually WANTS to run into a gunfight. When that does happen, someone is gonna get killed, period. Whether it's good guys or bad guys, it's anyone's guess. All the training in the world won't guarantee someone 100% protection from death.

CQB is a deadly scenario no matter how good your training is. Training simply minimizes YOUR mistakes. Unfortunately, the enemy always gets a vote and quite often they (unlike the good guys) dont have to worry about injuring non-combatants.

    I respectfully and strongly disagree.

Gunfights are fun. Losing is the part no one wants.

What were the classroom doors made of. Did they have a window? Pictures of the interior hallways of this school, prior to the shooting, dont wanna see the gore?
