    Take a minute to call this. Ask others to call too.
    I've already emailed state senators and representatives. This bill if passed would give law abiding gun owners 300 days to register thier guns or face felony charges. No manufacturing, ownership,transfer, or sale of any semiautomatic or any magazine over 12 rounds.
    Illinois is still home to Rock River, Springfield Armory, Armalite and others. LMT and Les Baer have already moved across the river to Iowa to avoid Illinois taxes and regulation.

    So please contact Senate President Don Harmon IMMEDIATLY at 217-782-8176 and demand he block SB 2226 “The Assault Weapons Ban.”

    Illinois is circling the drain.

    A phone call and a demand will have roughly the same effect as dropping coins into a fountain. Turn out the lights...

    One could also use those 300 days to GTFO of Ill. though that may not be an option for most.

    They were already registered when the background check/4473 was ran through the ISP website ect.
    This is just a ploy to test those who would resist.


    BTW-As mentioned below this is completely unconstitutional, they don't give a shit.
    Who's going to hold them to account?
    This will be a good test for the "foot soldiers" of this oppressive ploy.

    Agreed, though many of see the (not so ) long term outcome is likely written. As rural America shrinks and urbanization grows, the population centers in the cities continue to turn blue. Blue = gun control, its just a matter of time.

    Will be going that route if it passes. The move has been a long time coming though. Keep in mind the magazine ban is effective immediately upon signing into law.

    It's the same deal in Canada too, but worse. Scared city people that see all the crime around them have been brainwashed to expect the government to have all the answers and keep them safe, and they massively outnumber the rural and semi rural people. We've had government sponsored and official petitions with the most signatures ever recorded saying that Canadians are absolutely against more gun control, the government's own polling has showed that Canadians are massively against more gun control, yet here were set to lose basically every semi auto rifle that can use detachable magazines. Even after we've been limited to 5 rounders for nearly 30 years and all the data shows that criminals ignore this, registration, possession permits, and still use guns illegally smuggled across the border. Canada is too far gone, so I was hoping the USA would remain as a beacon of freedom for the rest of the world, but it doesn't look like that will work out either. There's probably nothing anyone can do about this late in the game, so might as well enjoy life while we can.

    The bill passed both the house and the senate and jelly bean pritzker will no doubt sign it if he hasn’t already. The new Illinois 103rd congress is inaugurated tomorrow and with the democrats changing our district maps they picked up more seats leaving the house with a 78 dems to 40 rihno majority. Between the safe t act and the “protect Illinois community act” the down state citizens of Illinois are tired of the crap Chicago puts us through. Illinois is ready to secede from Chicago they can govern themselves without wasting our tax dollars and see how far that gets them.
