Anyone running the new Vortex Impact along with a NX8 2.5-20? Wondering how it’ll look on a diving board since the tube is rather short.

Yup, i had to dremel a little on my diving board to get it up over the 2.5-20x bell.

Mine have worked fine

Not all "diving boards" follow the same angles and dims.
Your choice of rings/mounts will limit you that that brand's diving board.

The NF Ultra rings and RAPi will handle the NX8 front bell.

Yea. Was hoping someone had managed a spuhr mount to work to keep the height of the impact down, similar to this:

Just eyeballing it, the Spuhr A-0019D (which I believe you have pictured, will probably not work unless you cut some of the front off. Even then it looks sketchy as the angle doesn't look steep enough.

Above, you can see that at about the 5th picatinny “trough” the 2.5-20’s objective angle stops. I think that’s the Spuhr A-0029b or c diving board.

Then just imagine cutting down the A-0019D right after the 5th pic trough. I dunno. Doubt it’ll work?

The A-0029 (medium-ish) diving board might work, however. Might need to dremel the bottom as it appears the angle is less steep that the high diving board…but maybe that’s a trick of perspective.

Looking at the pic some more, the A-0029 would also seem to raise the LRF just high enough to see the 4000’s display over the 2.5-20’s turret.

I know this isn’t what you’re looking for, as I haven’t tried it. But maybe it’s sorta helpful.

Or just use a sphur spacer then a spuhr flat rail.....

Or get that 7 axis Dremel out...

gdamn leave it to husky and @charnicus to swoop down like manna from heaven!

Didn’t know they made a spacer…I have a Spuhr but am a Spuhr noob.

Is this the spacer? https://www.milehighshooting.com/spuhr-a-0015-spacer-10mm/

I see they make a 4mm too.

Then one adds an A-0032 H14 or A-0037 H20 pic rail? Or something else?

Btw how many pic rail slots does the 4000 take up? Despite my best googling, I cannot figure that out.

And I only have a 6.5 axis dremel… 😢

Edit: it appears the 0037 is way chonkier than the Spuhr pic suggests. I bet you could use that without a spacer.

0037 on the right. Specs say it’s 20mm/0.79” high.

What I believe to be the 0037 in real life.

Text in the ad indicates it’s a 0037.

Yeah that’s the spacer! Cool thing about the 4mm is you can put an Accuracy 1st level in front of it and run the A0029 over the top vs rear tubing the level and obstructing the turrets.

It looks like the Vortex takes us 6 slots by guesstimating.

Ok, here is A-0029 which is less tall, so I had to carve on it ..

Removed just enuff material so the mount would not contact the scope

A-0029B is taller, so no need to carve on it.

You know, I assume the NX8 2.5-20 would work with the ARC M-Brace + bridge. Anyone know?

I ask because their site says:

…but that’s an unusually short scope. I’ve sent an email to ARC, but if anyone knows feel free to chime in.

@BurtG might know ^^

They both are 50mm. The nx8 in question is 12" - normal length for my big scopes :D

EDIT: Answers to another similar question group - a few days ago
<<
A-0037 is 0.79" high (20mm)

A-0003 is 0.39" high (10mm)

So a 10mm spacer roughly converts A-0003 into A-0037 (10mm + 10mm = 20mm)

Now

A-0032 is is 0.55" (14mm) basically A-0003 with a 4mm spacer (10mm + 4MM = 14mm)
