Only two other threads on this subject and it’s dumbasses saying call a smith or most send a barrel to a smith (no shit sherlocks). Let’s keep this thread for those with these actions or looking into them and need a barrel also along with full names and or numbers of Smith’s with in stock blanks that can spin one up and how long it took Along with the Quality of work you received.

Not yet. Still waiting on a scope from Liberty Optics and still need a mount. I have no doubts it going to be a hammer (bartlein marksman 6 creed) I think it only took longer because I had it ceracoated.

I ordered a barrel for my Impact from John at Keystone Accuracy on a Wednesday afternoon, a Krieger shouldered pre-fit chambered in 6BR. He sent me an email with a tracking number for the barrel on Friday morning, and it was in my hands by the next Tuesday.

It took 6 days from placing the order to having the barrel in hand, even considering that I ordered it at the end of the day (~4PM EST). I haven't heard of anyone faster.

The only downside is that he has a slightly more limited selection of reamers than some other smiths. For 6mm barrels he has 6BR, 6BRX, 6 Dasher, 6 Creed, 6x47L, and .243 Winchester. If you looking for a 6BRA or some other new hot cartridge (like 6GT, for example) or want a 6XC built he doesn't have it, but for any of the most popular options he should have you covered. He had just about any contour I wanted in stock (only ones I was considering that he didn't were a straight contour or a Proof competition contour, which are both pretty uncommon to begin with).

The barrel also just plain shoots. Loaded up some DTACs for load development and these two were the best and worst groups of the day at ~10 thousandths off the lands:

May not have a blank in stock, but they will get you one fast and spin it up fast. I don’t take pics of groups often, but here is one of the most recent barrel they spun up for me. I’m sure they have the measurements for an impact or two.

i don't really have a dedicated hunting gun, but i'd look really hard at the seekins bolt guns. seriously.
for more general purpose, my top choice is the impact action. second would be defiance. i wouldn't run any of the others. i'll have a couple left hand surgeons for sale soon
i hope you get banned soon

to the OP. altus, stuteville, keystone, pva if you want to wait. the first three take a week or so, maybe less

any smith should be able to take the spec and spin a barrel without seeing the action though

Looks like I need to give them a call that’s a hammer! Great post @ThePretzel do they cerakote too?
I couldn't find any info on his website, but he was very responsive when I was getting ready to order so I'd give him a call or send an email. If he couldn't answer the phone when I called I usually got a callback within a couple hours (probably just machining during that time), and for emails the response time was also usually a couple hours or less.

Keystone has a 6BRA reamer. John doesn't have a 6xc reamer but that's only due to lack of interest. I'm sure if he had orders for them he would order one....

Cant beat the lightning fast turn around, quality work and great customer service.

As of January 7th Keystone had no 6BRA reamer and he didn't seem interested in getting one either. I was just repeating exactly what I was told. I'm certain that the 6XC is also an interest thing, it doesn't make sense for him to buy reamers that don't get used and since he's smaller than the industry giants he can't have everything. He does have all of the most popular offerings though.

That said, the speed, quality, and service were all fantastic. No reason not to go with him for a barrel.

According to his spring sale he has a 6mmBRA reamer. I’m guessing he just got it. I’ll echo everyone’s opinions of John at keystone. Phenomenal work, and lightning fast turn around time. I’m on my fourth barrel from him now. Everyone has shot one hole.

i always thought it was curious he didn't have a 6XC considering the type of rifles he does and the highpower crowd

Ended up ordering a barrel from paradigmgunworx. Having a proof cf 26in and already shooting one match with it I needed a Bartlein m24 26in for matches. Turn around is under two weeks. Will update once I zero this laser beam.

Good to know, he must have had more people than just me asking if he had a BRA reamer. That's a pretty darn good deal too on those barrels.

Ordering reamers sucks right now. Most of us won't use PT&G due to their QC issues. So JGS and Manson it is. My last order from Manson ended up taking 16 weeks! Luckily I have most of the popular PRS cartridges already.

Wow that is surprising! I ordered 2 custom reamers from Manson on 3/13 and was quoted 8-12 weeks. They both showed up on 3/27. 2 weeks. I was very surprised.
