Gunsmithing Important to get matched bolt with new barrel ???

I just found a creedmoor barrel. Barrel only.20" SS.
Does getting a matched bolt with a barrel not matter?

Does 4 lbs sound about right? Seems a bit heavy to me.

It is an LMT, button rifled. I am tempted to just order a Krieger and wait.

I'm not sure if I'm reading this right, but is this going on an AR? If so getting a matched bolt would ensure headspace, but I don't think you have to worry about it. If it checks out with the proper gauges, press on. If this is not going into a fixed headspace weapon, you are going to have to headspace it anyway so matching the bolt would be worthless.

Yep for an AR. I'm just going to buy a bolt and send it to Krieger.

In a word - YES.

AR15 - good USGI spec 556 bolts and barrel extensions will headspace within .0005" (half a thou). In contrast, the big frame AR world isn't so. Krieger won't chamber a large frame AR without your bolt in hand or them providing one with the barrel.

You might get lucky, but I'm not one to rely on luck when other avenues are readily available.

Yep I agree....not counting on luck. This is a creedmoor build and I want things done right and with the best parts I can find..
