improving a rra predator pursuit

Re: improving a rra predator pursuit

What are you looking to improve? Every predator pursuit I've seen/shot has performed very well with good ammo.

You can improve on the trigger but the RRA two stage is pretty good, and stock, besides that everything else is fluff. The handrail is pretty heavy if you want lighter options, but it's actually a really nice grippy handrail.

Re: improving a rra predator pursuit

I tend to agree with Todd, the grip could be changed(I would),the RRA NM trigger is nothing to write home about,I don't like the EOP,rather have a std A3/4 Flat top with more mounting options.A lot of mounts for AR's have the elevation built into them, along with moving your scope forward. The RRA Predator Pursuit is a good solid rifle though.

Re: improving a rra predator pursuit

If you're trying to improve on a pretty nice rifle, I'd do maybe a couple of things. The first would be the trigger. A Geissele DMR would do nicely. The second thing, if you can, would be to pull the barrel, face off the upper to make sure it's square to the barrel extension and then reinstall the barrel (with bedding, if needed). Some of them have a pretty tight fit into the upper and some of them are pretty loose.

BTW, what glass are you running.

Re: improving a rra predator pursuit

1st Trigger (JP is my favorite but I like the Geissele's as well)

2nd Lighten up the barrel a little (preference but the Heavy barrel makes it pretty front heavy)

3rd Grips Forearms and Stocks to your preference

The 4 or 5 PPR's ihave played with personally needed nothing more to be a great rifle.

Re: improving a rra predator pursuit

thanks for the input so far gentlemen!

i have no real complaints, but, i have NEVER kept any rifle stock!...LOL

wondering in what direction i should be heading.

the rra pp i have put together is a M4 flat top upper, with Burris XTR highs cradling a Nikon Tactical Gen II 2.5-10x44 FWIW, the stock an A2 fixed and buffer tube/buffer are Colt HBAR take offs.

i bought a complete upper and the lower seperately.

Re: improving a rra predator pursuit

I think the only improvement i would make on my is a trigger upgrade the rra single stage is a little stiff! Could be a little lighter , but that doesn't bother me to much.

The Hvy BBL is what makes it a Predator Pursuit, why buy a PP if you don't want a heavy bbl ?

Re: improving a rra predator pursuit

I see no need to make any improvments on a quality machine such as the RRA predator pursuit. Don't be one to stumble over dollars to pick up pennies. The single most improvement to make is to send some rounds down the pipe and find your comfort zone and learn the ballistics of that rifle. Its after you have some "trigger time" is when you'll know for yourself what improvments need to be made.
Although, I would consider Krylon an improvement!!

Re: improving a rra predator pursuit

Good trigger is a must,if it has the RRA NM already,or even a stock milspec trigger and you are on a budget, get Bill Springfield to tune it up,he has fast turn around, does a good job and the price is right for what you get.
