IMR 4064 and 175gn SMK. Max Pressure

I've used it for a while, but stayed below 42.9 gn of 4064. but now that sierra updated their books its looking like i would be able to go higher. I am trying to get a consensus of what people have gone up to.

I've loaded IMR4064, 175SMK, and Lapua brass up to 45C grains. I did have pressure signs, but not much. IMR lists the max load with Winchester brass as being 45.6C grains. I think you might find 42 grains shoots to a "gold match" level. ;)

I only use IMR4064 for my 308 shooting both Sierra 175’s and Hornady 178’s.

Great results between 41.5-ish to 42.5-ish

42gr of imr4064 with 175smk: fgmm, 9.5, cci200-----FC, hornady,Winchester, lapua brass---------at 2.820" works in
All my 308's.

Sounds about right. I have loaded to the 45+ level in my R700 with Win brass but that rifle has about a 100yd freebore! I wouldn't recommend loading anywhere near there.

I would try the recommended loads that others have found to be the "sweet spot" in their rifles. A ladder test may refine this for you and varying your primers can make a big difference.
