A friend of mine recently tried a new powder - IMR 8208 XBR in his .308 and he states it dramatically decreased his group size. I will be loading for a 260 Remington in the next month and I can only find loads for relatively light bullets on the Hodgdon site or anywhere else for that matter. Has anyone loaded with this powder bullets in the 140 weight range for a 260 Remington?

Thanks

Captain H, there is no reason to try and reinvent the wheel. Shoot h-4350 and 142gr SMK or 139 lapua sceners. I use a CCI benchrest primer. This is the load that wins the most matches. That is what I am told anyway. Jeff

What oregonshooter#2 said for the 139-142 class bullets. With the 139's you will pick up 50 fps or better with the same load. At least that was my experience.

8208 will go bang if you use it, but it is too fast of a powder for the 140 grain bullets. That's why you see it listed for the lighter bullets, and not the heavier one's. Go to a slower powder for the 139+ bullets. H4350 is my first vote.
