My parents lived in the local low-income housing circa late 1957 or so and again 1959-60. Series of 4-plexes built during WWII for local factory workers, single-story all in a row. Pretty small units.
Dad shot at the local pistol range built and used by the PD. I learned years later (after it was torn down) that it wasn't even in city limits.
Monthly match results were published in the local Home News, sometimes with pictures.
Not ONE of those four units was broken into while they lived there. Burglaries, however, were pretty common (about once a year per) at most of the other buildings in the rest of the complex.
