Hi,

Needing an inexpensive double rifle soft case for holding up to 2 AR-15s. Both rifles have collapsable stocks so anything from 36-40” would work. Both rifles have lights at the 3 o’clock position, a small AFG, and some type of optic.

Budget is about $100.

Use: simple transport from house to truck to range. Not going to be skull dragging with this bag or doing any HALO jumps. Just need something more convenient than my Pelican case to throw a rifle or two in to get put and shoot.

Browsed on LAPG since we have a SH 10% off code, but I’m wary of the Condor and Propper brands. Any other recommendations in this cheap price range?

I’d love a TACOPS soft case, but that is not in the cards for today.

Completely read that wrong. My first thought was, if you can afford a double rifle then don't skip on the case... then I finished reading.

5.11 makes an affordable, double-rifle case, I have had one (and used it) for a decade and haven't started to wear it out.

+1 for Savior Equipment. I have a 51” bag for my bolt rig, and I can put an AR on the other side with a couple pistolas, and ammo. It’s really a great bag with nearly a 50lb weight limit.

I have a savior I picked up as an extra about 2 years ago. Very nice case. Easily carried a AR 15 and MP5. Will be using for carrying my AIAT this year (folded)

The midway drag bag is a very well made bag as well. I've used mine for about 2 years and it has held well over 30lbs of rifles, and 15lbs of other various gear, bags, binocs, borka kit suppressors etc. It has adjustable straps to hold the rifles in place and a removable divider.

+1 for Drago... I had a bag from them 7 years and one day the zipper broke. I emailed them and they sent me a new bag. Lifetime warranty, am happy I paid the extra for a company that stands behind their products.

Savior has been looking pretty good so I've been eyeing some of their stuff... the specialist bag is pretty cool for holding all your shit for a PRS match. No idea how they stand behind their products though.

I really like the HQ branded padded case at Sportsman Guide.
Great price and even includes a shooting mat of sorts.

I used to recommend the Midway discreet case they discontinued a year or so ago. I think they new ones have a padded dividing flap that would work but I haven't had hands on one to say how good it is.

No complaints on the Midway Drag Bag. Think I got this one for $45 on clearance two years ago. Works well for lugging my shittier ARs around.

Bang for buck, this case has worked really well for me.

Not a bad option but no external pockets for other needed gear going to range.

+1 for midway bag. I have had mine for 4 years lugging 30 + pounds of stuff around. lots of pockets and zippers have not broken. outside has held up very well.

Right now I use a Smith and Wesson branded double AR case.
it usually has my folded 7 saum and my 9mm AR in it.
I’d like to get something a bit more discreet for both of those.

Discrete double from Midway is just a rectangle, no external pockets, so it is pretty nondescript.

Heavy duty double tactical has outside pockets but from a distance is still pretty nondescript, does have a few more features that indicate “rifles / firearms” vs the discrete double.

I've got a few Dragos, they are good to go. I've got some other brands too, don't recall what they were and honestly I think most of these bags are the same manufacturer with a different logo sewn on. I've compared a few and they are identical.

All single rifle soft cases... I’ve had two Midway cases that failed at the seams due to the fabric being trimmed too short at the seam. Midway’s online reviews repeatedly described the same exact failures I described. Unfortunately, I did not use them right away and when I started using them they both failed within a couple of months. I contacted Midway regarding the issue and they said they were just outside their warranty period so I was SOL!

Both replaced with Drago cases which have been holding up extremely well after several years of use. Without hesitation I’d recommend Drago!

Palmetto state armory or Bulldog are both good, I have both . Sometimes you can get the bag and 8 AR magazines for under a hundred from PSA

I picked up a Tactical Performance double case at Academy on Black Friday for $30. The case holds my 20” bolt gun and an AR with no issues. It has some good size pockets on the outside to carry mags and stuff. It also has stowable back pack straps which is nice if you carry other bags. My use is the same as yours. Just needed something to carry my rifles from the truck to the range.
