Last year I purchased the 7.62 HVT with the QD mount. After some trouble with it in the field, I gave Gemtech a call to see if they could change the QD mount to a screw-on so I wouldn't have to sell the can and then purchase a new screw-on model and pay the ATF and wait for approval again.

Gemtech put me in touch with Phil in their custom shop. Phil said he could certainly do it. [BTW, his phone number is (208) 938-2173]

I mailed the can to Phil with a copy of my Form 4 on 2/5.

I received the can today (2/23) with the conversion completed.

The cost (including shipping) for the work was $90...well below the loss I would have taken on the can and the new $200 stamp.

The work on the can looks GREAT. I can't wait to get it to the range and try it out.

I wasn't aware that this conversion was possible, and it was great to see that Gemtech could do it - and at a very reasonable price.

I give them high marks for their service.

I absolutly love my Sandstorm suppressor and couldn't be happier with Gemtech and their CS.

Id like to have it so I could thread my barrel then go ring steel with it. Had hoped to take it on a hunt...
