Do you have to remove the barrel from the action to install a Badger FTE break?

it depends on the barrel length. if it is less than 20" most people would probably need to remove the barrel.

No, the process would be the same as a normal brake. Then the bearing surface is added behind the threaded area of the barrel. Those brakes are machined to exacting tolerances so the barrel should be machined to the specs laid out in the supplied literature.

I think the term "Clamp" may mislead some folks as the tolerances held when machining for this brake only allow the screw to add pressure to the bearing surface which may be only about .001" of movement.
