Gunsmithing Installed magwell now grip safety not working

Installed a new mag well in a les Baer now the grip safety does not function. It has pressure on it but hammer will drop with out depressing it.

Is the mainspring magwell pressing down on the grip safety spring?

How do I fix it

The MSH hold the Grip safety from poping out, so maybe it is holding it in too far and allowing the trigger to miss the safety. Check to see if with the old MSH everything works OK again, then check the engagement on the grip safety to the MSH and compare to the new MSH.

though the item may be sold as a drop-in part, it's not on all guns. You simply have to fit it so that the GS can rotate properly. Either it's stopping at the top part of the MSH or the tab that sticks up isn't allowing it to rotate back far enough...possibly a combination of both. In either case it's a simple fix.

1, figure out where it's catching. Does the GS swing all the way back and hit the tab of the MSH or is it catching on the top shelf of the MSH?

All you need is a file (preferably one with a safe edge)and is flat/90 on the sides...take the spring/plunger out when you do this so you don't get crap in the MS hole(you could just plug it with tissue paper too...just remember to remove it when you put it back in the gun.
