At least they are doing something. Im sure Ill hear a lot about SJW, and some of that may be true, but look at the sign. Not to get into religion, but this is what we, who profess Christ, are told to do. Before you start in on "helping illegals" bailing them out is perfectly legal. Im proud of them for doing something instead of just bitching.

Ive got the popcorn ready. Let the squealing begin.

Doing something? How about heckling Congress till they fix the problem. Now that would be doing something.
    Works for me.

Heres and interesting read on the problem. I was not aware of the process:

    ---------------------------------------------

And while I am on my political soap box today, I am compelled to tell you something most people in America are not aware of & I guarantee you that most people around the world are not being told. It has to do with the children of illegal aliens being ripped from the arms, and sometimes from the nursing breasts of their mothers, thrown into cages and treated little better than dogs...all at the hands of the tyrannical Trump administration.

But you won't believe what just a little research has revealed. Keep in mind, this is the research the Far Left & the MSM are banking on you will never do. If you don't know the facts, they are free to lie & brainwash & mis-represent to their heart's content. And once the lie is out there & repeated enough times...well, it becomes the facts! So listen up now!

International law...the very International law that the Far Left (think Obama administration) were demanding the US follow, requires that refugees fleeing a country & seeking asylum do so in the very first country they enter, providing that country will not continue to persecute them. In the instances of the Central, South & Latin American refugees, that country would be Mexico.

But Mexico advises the refugees NOT to request asylum because Mexico will deny the request. They don't want them! And if the request is denied, the refugee is required to go back to their country of origin. But something else is being violated here. Mexico (under International law) is NOT permitted to refuse a legitimate request for asylum nor are they permitted to send the asylum seeker back into harms way.

But if the request for asylum is not legitimate and substantiated, then Mexico is free to refuse them. Which is what they are doing.

In these instances the refugees are advised, educated and assisted in making their way to the US. Those that are legitimate refugees with substantiating reasons for seeking asylum...reasons that should allow them to be granted asylum by the US, are directed & assisted by the Mexican government to specific & official border checkpoints. In certain instances, Mexico delivers them to the checkpoint!

Those that have no hope of attaining asylum however, because their requests are fraudulent, are advised, educated and assisted by the Mexican government as to the best location and times to sneak across the US Border illegally, such to minimize the chances of being caught, detained and deported. They are advised that if they are captured, to immediately request asylum.

But when a foreign national is caught illegally crossing the US border, they are detained by border patrol and placed in a temporary holding facility. wherein they are processed and eventually deported. If the illegal alien has children with them, the process is markedly different.

The parents (or adult guardians) and the children are housed together (at US taxpayer expense) for twenty days. During those twenty days they are advised as to the laws they have broken and they are provided with numerous options to remedy their plight.

They are permitted (without being charged with a crime) to re-cross the border (with their children) into Mexico and make their way to an official checkpoint where they can legally and appropriately seek asylum.

If they refuse that option, and decide to remain in detention, they are told they will be charged with a felony and detained awaiting a deportation order from a US court. The order can take up to several months because of the back log.

During that time, their children will be removed from their custody & placed elsewhere because US & International law forbids the housing or co-mingling of children in adult detention facilities. The children will be placed with other family members currently residing legally in America or with a licensed foster facility until such time as the deportation order is received and executed. At the time of deportation the children are reunited with the parents and taken back across the border as a family through a reciprocity agreement the US has with Mexico.

The illegal aliens are advised NUMEROUS times within those 20 days that they will be charged with felony border crossing should they not return to Mexico voluntarily. In so denying this option, they are told their chances of every getting into the US legally are eliminated.

You see, these people are advised quite well as to their situation and their options. They are treated fairly and humanely. At anytime during the twenty day detention they can opt to return to Mexico voluntarily and attempt to enter the US through proper means and channels, this avoiding a criminal record in the US.

Children are NOT being ripped away from their parents. If the children are removed it is because the parent chose for that to happen.

This is not what the Democrats, the Far Left & the MSM are leading you to believe however. This is NOT what the civil rights organizations & activists are telling you. You are being lied to & deceived because they bank on your apathy & ignorance of information on this & other immigration matters. They are looking only to discredit the current president & his administration.

At no time is the enforcement of these laws, rules and protocols in any way harsher or more frequent than what took place under Obama.

You are being played like a fiddle! But now you know the truth! So spread it!

Do you have the source/sources for this?

I would be very careful before I started trying to justify supporting illegal aliens using the Bible. In fact, I think that is a stretch by a country mile. That said, doing the wrong thing for the right reason (out of love) is definitely what it instructs. But, unless you are claiming to see into their hearts I think it's a bridge way too far, because although I will agree that there are ignorant and misguided people who do damage thinking they are doing good, there are an equal or greater number of evil people who will do anything to control and dominate their fellow man. It is the sole focus of some people's existence, and as of yet it is not classified as a mental disorder (though it should be).

In light of your comment, I think this article sums up that very thing, and quite nicely.

    The Truth about Separating Kids

Some economic migrants are using children as chits, but the problem is fixable — if Congress acts.
The latest furor over Trump immigration policy involves the separation of children from parents at the border.
As usual, the outrage obscures more than it illuminates, so it’s worth walking through what’s happening here.
For the longest time, illegal immigration was driven by single males from Mexico. Over the last decade, the flow has shifted to women, children, and family units from Central America. This poses challenges we haven’t confronted before and has made what once were relatively minor wrinkles in the law loom very large.

The Trump administration isn’t changing the rules that pertain to separating an adult from the child. Those remain the same. Separation happens only if officials find that the adult is falsely claiming to be the child’s parent, or is a threat to the child, or is put into criminal proceedings.
It’s the last that is operative here. The past practice had been to give a free pass to an adult who is part of a family unit. The new Trump policy is to prosecute all adults. The idea is to send a signal that we are serious about our laws and to create a deterrent against re-entry. (Illegal entry is a misdemeanor, illegal re-entry a felony.)

When a migrant is prosecuted for illegal entry, he or she is taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals. In no circumstance anywhere in the U.S. do the marshals care for the children of people they take into custody. The child is taken into the custody of HHS, who cares for them at temporary shelters.
The criminal proceedings are exceptionally short, assuming there is no aggravating factor such as a prior illegal entity or another crime. The migrants generally plead guilty, and they are then sentenced to time served, typically all in the same day, although practices vary along the border. After this, they are returned to the custody of ICE.
If the adult then wants to go home, in keeping with the expedited order of removal that is issued as a matter of course, it’s relatively simple. The adult should be reunited quickly with his or her child, and the family returned home as a unit. In this scenario, there’s only a very brief separation.

Where it becomes much more of an issue is if the adult files an asylum claim. In that scenario, the adults are almost certainly going to be detained longer than the government is allowed to hold their children.

That’s because of something called the Flores Consent Decree from 1997. It says that unaccompanied children can be held only 20 days. A ruling by the Ninth Circuit extended this 20-day limit to children who come as part of family units. So even if we want to hold a family unit together, we are forbidden from doing so.
The clock ticking on the time the government can hold a child will almost always run out before an asylum claim is settled. The migrant is allowed ten days to seek an attorney, and there may be continuances or other complications.
This creates the choice of either releasing the adults and children together into the country pending the ajudication of the asylum claim, or holding the adults and releasing the children. If the adult is held, HHS places the child with a responsible party in the U.S., ideally a relative (migrants are likely to have family and friends here).
Even if Flores didn’t exist, the government would be very constrained in how many family units it can accommodate. ICE has only about 3,000 family spaces in shelters. It is also limited in its overall space at the border, which is overwhelmed by the ongoing influx. This means that — whatever the Trump administration would prefer to do — many adults are still swiftly released.

Why try to hold adults at all? First of all, if an asylum-seeker is detained, it means that the claim goes through the process much more quickly, a couple of months or less rather than years. Second, if an adult is released while the claim is pending, the chances of ever finding that person again once he or she is in the country are dicey, to say the least. It is tantamount to allowing the migrant to live here, no matter what the merits of the case.
A few points about all this:
    1) Family units can go home quickly. The option that both honors our laws and keeps family units together is a swift return home after prosecution. But immigrant advocates hate it because they want the migrants to stay in the United States. How you view this question will depend a lot on how you view the motivation of the migrants (and how seriously you take our laws and our border).
    2) There’s a better way to claim asylum. Every indication is that the migrant flow to the United States is discretionary. It nearly dried up at the beginning of the Trump administration when migrants believed that they had no chance of getting into the United States. Now, it is going in earnest again because the message got out that, despite the rhetoric, the policy at the border hasn’t changed. This strongly suggests that the flow overwhelmingly consists of economic migrants who would prefer to live in the United States, rather than victims of persecution in their home country who have no option but to get out.

Even if a migrant does have a credible fear of persecution, there is a legitimate way to pursue that claim, and it does not involve entering the United States illegally. First, such people should make their asylum claim in the first country where they feel safe, i.e., Mexico or some other country they are traversing to get here. Second, if for some reason they are threatened everywhere but the United States, they should show up at a port of entry and make their claim there rather than crossing the border illegally.

    3) There is a significant moral cost to not enforcing the border. There is obviously a moral cost to separating a parent from a child and almost everyone would prefer not to do it. But, under current policy and with the current resources, the only practical alternative is letting family units who show up at the border live in the country for the duration. Not only does this make a mockery of our laws, it creates an incentive for people to keep bringing children with them.
Needless to say, children should not be making this journey that is fraught with peril. But there is now a premium on bringing children because of how we have handled these cases. They are considered chits.
In April, the New York Times reported:
Some migrants have admitted they brought their children not only to remove them from danger in such places as Central America and Africa, but because they believed it would cause the authorities to release them from custody sooner.
Others have admitted to posing falsely with children who are not their own, and Border Patrol officials say that such instances of fraud are increasing.
According to azcentral.com, it is “common to have parents entrust their children to a smuggler as a favor or for profit.”

If someone is determined to come here illegally, the decent and safest thing would be to leave the child at home with a relative and send money back home. Because we favor family units over single adults, we are creating an incentive to do the opposite and use children to cut deals with smugglers.
    4) Congress can fix this. Congress can change the rules so the Flores consent decree will no longer apply, and it can appropriate more money for family shelters at the border. This is an obvious thing to do that would eliminate the tension between enforcing our laws and keeping family units together. The Trump administration is throwing as many resources as it can at the border to expedite the process, and it desperately wants the Flores consent decree reversed. Despite some mixed messages, if the administration had its druthers, family units would be kept together and their cases settled quickly.
The missing piece here is Congress, but little outrage will be directed at it, and probably nothing will be done. And so our perverse system will remain in place and the crisis at the border will rumble on.

Do you have the source/sources for this?

The OP or the second one I put up commenting on it. The first is a link to Yahoo and is noted. The second came from a post in Face book. I didnt share the link because it could lead back to my page and Ive had others here gather info to fuck with me from doing that. Ill see what I can find.

I would be very careful before I started trying to justify supporting illegal aliens using the Bible.

    Rest assured, Im not.

I didnt approve nor disapprove their action, Im just pointing out that instead of whining and bitching, they are living their faith and trying to make a positive difference. Thats what those who hold that particular belief system are told to do...as I understand it.

And if this seems too 'religious' then notify the mods and have them remove it.

    Romans 13

I believe you missed my explanation of my post.

By your post, wouldnt that invalidate the American Revolution? They should have submitted to British authority.

To keep it with in the rules lets not get too deeply into this part, if you'd like to pm me...

It's always nice to have a good set of facts to enrage liberals if you get forced to talk to them for some reason.
(Of course if you can just avoid talking to them, your life will be much happier).

Being intimately familiar with what goes on, on the southern border, I might offer a different perspective.

The root problem of all of this is the detention itself. You see, the American government has offered due process to people who are not American citizens. They deserve basic human rights, but are NOT entitled to to any due process under our constitution.

So, every single person who crosses is fingerprinted, interviewed, documented, an immigration file (requiring several man hours per file) is done. They have to be fed, clothed, housed, bussed, counted, bussed again...etc....etc. The longer we have them, the more problems arise, the more rights they incur, and the more legal advocates they accumulate. These problems require more money, more man hours, and more resources to deal with.

The government is so invested in extracting as much data from every single potential future Democrat voter, that the system moves along as smartly as a river of molasses.

If the government was solely focused on repatriating these so called "refugees", and side stepping all this mountain of shit, then none of these people would be entered into any kind of system. We wouldn't care who they were, or what thier past was, or what relatives they already have in the US, or thier age, or anything else besides country of origin. We would colect them up, give them a bag lunch on the way to the airport, and put them on the next JPATS flight as passenger #......whatever.

Done, repeat...repeat...repeat. Next thing you know, the river of incoming shit. drys up to a trickle.

In dealing with fucking Mexico's part in this, simply start subtracting from the allowed number of legal visas from Mexico for every OTM (Other Than Mexican) that we catch coming across from Mexico.

I totally agree. Once inside our borders there is no good solution to this. That's why....

WE NEED A WALL TO KEEP THEM FROM CROSSING ILLEGALLY IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

I totally agree. Once inside our borders there is no good solution to this. That's why....

WE NEED A WALL TO KEEP THEM FROM CROSSING ILLEGALLY IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

Im not so sure about a wall, higher walls ten to promote longer ladders, or deeper tunnels, but pre rather than post entry certainly where to stop the problem.

The wall needs to be high enough, about 30 feet, that's the issue, solid walls in the 30+ feet range with a patrol road on the secure side tend to have a lot less people going over than the much shorter ones. The problem is the cost and logistics of building a 30 foot wall across the border due to the length, plus there is some non insignificant environmental concerns.

However just like drugs, do all you can to stop them but if once they get here they can get money, food, jobs, send stuff back to their countries, they will keep coming. You have to totally cut off the ability for them to live here illegally & have them forceably and quickly sent right back to their countries no matter if their countries like it or not. If they cross illegally, sorry straight back home for you and you are done. If you are a valid asylum seeker, then present yourself validly at an authorized border crossing (of the first country you come to), then apply.

Introduce requirements for verification of legal status in the country before working at a job with harsh personal penalties that you can't avoid by being a corporation, cut off these Western Union places sending cash out of the country, demand proof of citizenship for any social benefits & if they are not legally in this country, out they go immediately. Also change the law to say that you must be born in the USA to parents who are legal residents or citizens of the USA in order to have citizenship.

But both parties have vested interests in this "crisis". The global elite want to turn the USA into a 3rd world country, the fastest way would be to import the whole 3rd world here. They love importing people who don't want freedom, just handouts & who don't care about the laws because they never plan to obey them to begin with.

You can't argue with the effectiveness. At least weekly suicide bombings to 0 attacks almost overnight (as soon as the wall was up). Good fences make good neighbors.

Now, I'm not arguing any moral equivalences between our problem and theirs or making any comparison beyond simply asserting total control over a border, but the effectiveness of it is beyond debate.

Bang on, finally I knew I would find common ground with you some day.

No, it is not a seperate issue. It is the root issue. The act of detention itself creates all problems that follow. Eliminate the detention as much as possible by taking them straight to the plane, and all this shit goes away.

No seperation, no case work, no immigration judge, no bond to raise money for, no media interviews, no hope of even being heard.

Send them back immediately. Do not even give them enough time for a shower. They should get a bag lunch on the way to the airport. JPATS flights should be leaving hourly.

It isn't the fence alone that keeps them out. It is the very good chance of being shot in the process.

    Its a separate issue.

If you are focusing on the people raising the money....I've seen bleeding hearts of all stripes doing stupid shit that makes them feel good, because they have no real understanding of root causes or unintended consequences.

There is no Biblical mandate to undercut the soveriegnty or security of your home nation in the name of charity. These people are just plain wrong.

    Spot on correct.
    Can I share this?

    Improve your reading comprehension.

That is the only solution to the problem - immediate deportation to one of the SA countries. I believe that Honduras will be one of the best options. US should make a deal with Honduras, it would be cheaper. US should use military cargo planes to move these people there... This BS must end for good. If somebody crosses the border illegally, there should be no option but immediate deportation in no more than 24 hours.

Only have two questions and I’ll even answer them to save on confusion.

Who is at fault for the plight of these kids? The parents
Is it legal for them to be here? No it is not

You can’t help anybody if the ship is sinking........the ship is sinking. We are not responsible for the actions of citizens from another country they are. I am so done with this whole illegal immigrant bullshit from people who don’t have to live with the blowback they bring with them.

Virtual or physical........build the F’n wall and patrol it with some boys that know the finer points of a rifle!!

    !!

Thats my opinion, which has little to do with the OP, which is a different issue.

Seems to upset Skooky who apparently can only handle one concept at a time, LOL.

Thats kind of what the Romans did with the Jews at Masada. They couldnt defeat them in their stronghold so they put Jews in the catapult and flipped them up at them. The defenders decided to suicide.

Don't worry guys, there are plenty of sanctuary states that will take them at tax payers expense.
Forgot to mention, not just their state expense, but every other state included.
BTW the rag heads blend in really well with them.so we will have more terrorist cells coming by way of Mexico then any where else.
Thanks to Mexico's policy of sending them thru.
