Interesting information on custom .22 LR chambers

Hi All,

Watched a video over the weekend (link below) from PounderLabs where they ordered a Lothar Walther barrel for their CZ 457. Right out of the box it wouldn't shoot worth crap. They tried to return it and ran into problems there so no return was possible.

Well, they decided to find out what was wrong with it and with help from a gunsmith and Pacific Tool and Gauge they found the problem and were able to fix it. Turns out the it was a bad chamber - out of spec. Also, through PTG they found out that "there isn't just "a" RF reamer" - there a literally dozens of different one - so they had to pick one!

They produced a chart from PTG on the video with all the ones PTG carries and I've posted it here. Almost ALL of the have different dimensions - go figure! All in all an interesting video.

And what you order might be not even close to what you get. I learned that the hard way.

Like you said there are dozens of different chamber dimensions available and what you order and get maybe a little different. Their tolerance maybe +.001/-.000 on OD and +.005/-.000 in length. What shooting sport(hunting,plinking,NRL22,BR) your rifle will be used for, and your preferred ammo choice can be a huge deciding factor in what chamber to use.
