So I have been wondering for along time when all this "Law shit" started an doing a bunch of digging I find until "the Law" came along there was much less crime all across this country, back when men were men. Looks to me like the first pussy generation stated in/about 1890 an is getting more pussyfied each generation. Do your own looking, an see what date you think the change started.

"The Law" as in the government oppressing you pretty much infested the country as bigger cities sprang up.

People wanting "freedom" kept moving west / north / south to where there was still freedom.
Eventually big government caught up with most all parts of the country & once the stupid people voted ultimate unchecked power to the government to tax you and control you in the early 1900 that was the end of real freedom.

Even back at the start of our country there was a significant period of time between the winning of the revolutionary war and when the bill of rights was finally done, that the new people in charge started acting just as bad or worse than the english tyrants they had kicked out. Throwing folks in jail for debts, throwing people in jail for not belonging to the state church, suppressing speech and the press etc.

It took the Shay's rebellion to actually get the bill of rights passed and we owe those guys the freedoms that we actually think of as "constitutional".

You figure that you have two types of "crime." Mala in se is the kind that most folks agree is wrong. Mala prohibita is crime because someone says it is wrong. Considering that the majority of our legal system came fom the big cities, it is no shock what we have today in terms of being told what is "crime." The ones calling the shots do what is needed to maintain their power.

Reactions: Blue Sky Country
i always felt it started around ww2 with the waging political war, giving in to the Russian demands to be the first into Germany and giving in when Montgomery was allowed to dictate what would happen to Patton they should have just given him what ever he needed and sent him out unbound including his wanting to just keep going east straight through china and into Russia no cold war no middle east problems not having pay for it later .The end of communism on the spot no cold war in the 1940's and all the cost since then . Why pay mistakes later when you could have fixed the problem then . but making war a political game was the start to me of the sissy gen. at least in politics this is my opinion anyway.

The nature of governments, completely unchecked, is to establish total and absolute control. And the reason for this is not that governments are "bad"..........It is because human nature is fueled by curiosity, exploration and domination. Governments are comprised of human beings. And because of that, they come with the same characters and faults that human beings have. Individual man has fought others for control over land and killed to resolve conflicts or protect himself from aggressors. Governments and nations wage war and defense. It is the same thing, but on a much larger scale.

There is only ONE way in this world that governments can be kept in check.......It is to have them realize that the citizens they rule over CAN and HAVE THE MEANS to employ overwhelming force to hold them accountable for their actions and overthrow them if necessary. Just like Heinlein's quote about violence. Violence is a tool, when it is controlled and used in the right way, is a most effective means of deterrence against oppression.

Medieval kings are amongst the most power hungry and brutal individuals ever to have existed in society. However, there are steep limits to how they can project their power. He can send out knights and men-at-arms to a distant village and rob, burn, rape and outright slaughter the populace there. But at the same time, the people of that village can meet the king's men head on with longbows and pikes and slaughter them too.

Today, it is a little different due to ever increasing technology. Today's governments can control digital information output, power and utilities, and unleash frightening levels of firepower from a vast array of weapons.

HOWEVER, the ability of 10%-30% of the citizenry to make head shots at 600 yards away with scoped rifles are the ONE thing that keeps governments from running out of control. Because governments are still made up of human beings acting in concert. Sure, an elk hunter with a .308 bolt action rifle cannot take on a Predator drone in the sky. BUT that same hunter can turn the drone operator's head into red mist as he sits at a family picnic. Casualties are highly costly.

As we near a universal surveillance state now with an almost frightening rate of improvements in electronic data gathering and genetic research, it is only more important now that at least a significant segment of the population continue to maintain the ability to use such great equalizers such as a simple and humble elk rifle.

Governments do not like self reliance. They prefer sheep to herd. All of the latest "trends" in popular culture, from electronic entertainment and fashion, to "social justice" and "gender identity" campaigns, are tools exploited by the ruling class to emasculate, weaken and remove the warrior spirit from as many potential fighting men as possible so as to create a whole new population of weaklings who beg for government protection. This type of indoctrination takes place at a very young age, beginning with "zero tolerance" policies in schools.

I submit teach someone the ability to use common everyday shelf items in the proper combinations. Any 10th+ grade chemistry student from my days should have the ability to inflect why more damage using Walmart, lowes, NAPA ect as a supplier than any gun ever made by the worlds best shot. Unlike a gun there are many things in this world that will kill you, w/o even one of your senses warning/telling you before hand. What use to be for export only, may come home to roost if the need is strong enough.
