Short notice, but there are still a few slots open. This was origionally a LE/.mil only course, but the training budget for local departments are hurting out here.

I am opening it up to non LE/.mil guys and gals that have at least a 2 day carbine course through a respected training provider.

I would also consider previous LE/.mil experiance as a qulifier depending on your carbine experiance.

INTERMEDIATE CARBINE WITH LOWLIGHT

Date: 20 – 21 March, 2010

Course Length: 2 Days: Day 1 1200 – 2200+, Day 2 0800 - 1800

Instructor: John Holschen

Class size: Min 12 – Max 16

Course Synopsis: This course provides instruction on weapons skills and tactics for the safe and effective use of the cabine. Course materials include principles of marksmanship, target engagement, reloads (speed and tactical), malfunctions (clearance and transitions), multiple targets, shooting while moving, shooting positions, use of cover, scanning and engagement techniques, 2-4 person fire and maneuver, low light engagement and more. Target engagement will be from contact distance to 150+ yards.

Student Requirements:
Semiautomatic, magazine-fed, iron-sighted rifle with sling (low power optics acceptable)
Weapon mounted flashlight advisable
1200 rounds of ammunition minimum (no steel core ammunition)
3 rifle magazines (minimum)
Handgun with 100 rounds
Patrol/Tactical Gear (body armor/ammo pouches/holster)
Hand Held Flashlight
Knee and elbow pads;
Hearing and eye protection
Note taking material

Instructor: John Holschen served for more than 20 years in the Special Operations and Intelligence branches of the U.S. military with over 11 years as a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant/Special Forces Medic. His recent experience includes tours in the Middle East as a protective security specialist and a security manager for U.S. government facilities. He is certified as a firearms instructor by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission and the U.S. Department of State. John is a two-time winner of the National Tactical Invitational; is the owner/operator of Heiho Consulting Group LLC, and is a frequent guest instructor with InSights Training Center and Fulcrum Tactical Training and Services.
