I have already bought these and will be receiving them shortly. But I wasn’t able to find much info about them.

What are your thoughts on these rings?
http://swfa.com/IOR-Heavy-Duty-Tactical-30mm-Rings-P3140.aspx

How do they compare against Seekins or BO rings?

Do you think I’ll have to lap them to avoid ring marks?

What is the recommended torque?
Valdada Optics recommends 12 INCH POUNDS for the ring caps. Would that torque be enough for a solid hold?

Thanks,

EDIT: I'm doing the review of these rings.

Re: IOR Heavy Duty Tactical 30mm Rings questions

I have a set of them on one of my rifles, they seem to be decent rings. At least I have'nt had any problems with them. My torque wrench did not go down to 12 in lbs, so I torqued them at 15, and they've been fine.

Re: IOR Heavy Duty Tactical 30mm Rings questions

Have you owned any rings that are considered more “high end” (like Seekins or Badger)? If so, how does these VTAC IOR rings compare against those? The price is somewhere between Burris Xtrem Tactical and Seekins (more close to Seekins actually). It’s just wired that people don’t seem to have much interest in these IOR rings.

Re: IOR Heavy Duty Tactical 30mm Rings questions

So no one has much info on these…Tell you what…. I’ll be receiving my rings in a couple of days and will write a detailed review with pics. If there as good as good as the more expensive for a cheaper price, there is no reason to not consider them. The only thing is that they are made in Romania and I’m curious to see the fit and finish.

Re: IOR Heavy Duty Tactical 30mm Rings questions

I have all three. They are all fine. I would not remove the IOR's just to change to Badger or Seekins.

If I were to compare the IOR is similar to the Badgers, the Seekins are different in design somewhat.

Re: IOR Heavy Duty Tactical 30mm Rings questions

I received my rings and mounted them on my rifle.
I really like them. The fit and finish is nice. These steel rings have a silky feel when you touch them. This goes for the inside of the rings that are in contact with the scope as well as the outside. They are several notches above Burris Xtreme rings and cost under $100. These rings definitely deserve to be more popular.

My previous set up with cheap high rings (don't even know what brand they are)

my new IOR rings next to my cheap rings that are being replaced.

You can see how smooth and well finished the inside is.

New rings installed. Looks much better than before.
