Guys,

Looking for a new scope for new rifle - something different to the Nightforce models / Weaver T36 which I already own.

Was looking at the IOR 9-36x56mm 35mm SF Tactical Scope.

The IOR Valdada website doesn't inspire confidence - Also a bit worried about the PO Box number.
Are these good scopes? Customer service?

Thanks for feedback

Re: IOR 9-36x56mm 35mm SF Tactical Scope users ?

I see you are in Scotland, is there a local IOR vendor you can trust. Fortunately we have Scott at Libertyoptics to buy from, I have a 16x which I personally think is really good value for the money. Crisp clear glass, positive clicks, well made and works for me.

I just picked up a monsterous 9-36 IOR and have only shot it once. On the lowest 9x the clarity at 100 yards was stunning. I just sat there staring at my bullet holes in fascination. Sadly it was really cold and I had to call it a day. Hope to get her out again shortly. i also really like the MP-8 reticle with the center dot. I hate crosshairs after discovering the Leupold TMR.

another thing that was unexpectedly nice was Val at IOR in Colorado sent me two sets of rings since I wasn't sure which would fit best. He trusted me to send back the other set when I figured it out.

Re: IOR 9-36x56mm 35mm SF Tactical Scope users ?

Guys,

Thanks for all your comments so far - I've been in touch with the local vendor for IOR - Border Barrels in Scotland who are extremely reputable and highly regarded. The chap there rates them, in fact I think that's the only glass they push but could be wrong.

From experience I think it's better to get views from end users... It's interesting to see many guys in the States using this glass. The prices for Nightforce / Lups are going crazy high over in UK so was looking for a more cost effective quality solution. I think I've Narrowed down to the IOR 9-36x56
and the Sightron SIII 8-32.

IOR is a few hundred more expensive but Sightron seems to get pretty good reviews both here & across the pond.

What you reckon between these two?

Cheers
