Got a 12-52x IOR Terminator yesterday.

Opened the box at 7 last night and saw I was sent the wrong size rings. Fit wasn't even close. Looking for 40mm rings/bases locally at 7pm on a Friday leaves you with pretty slim pickings. So I did the only thing I could--went and bought $15 Chinese riser rails at the local indoor gun range. Obviously they will be coming off as soon as I can get a one piece ring/base unit in, but for a quick-fix they worked well.

Now, the scope.
It's just what everyone says. It's big, heavy, and has absolutely incredible optics. I found it to have great image all the way to max power (52x), and it was in a medium-light situation (overcast day under a metal roof).

I found myself picking up the rifle with the Terminator on it to check groups I shot with other rifles when I couldn't find where the bullets had hit. It really is like mounting a spotting scope to the top of your rifle.

There are only 2 things so far that I don't like. They are minor.
1. Reticle doesn't seem very bright when illuminated. Might try another battery, because it isn't nearly as bright as another IOR 6-24x50 I had right beside it. Not a huge deal, but when shooting black parts of the target it made it a little difficult to tell where the center dot on the reticle is.
2. I don't know how I feel about having parallax adjustment where it is (up front around the main scope housing). Doesn't seem nearly as natural as having it on the left side. Also isn't as quick to adjust, or as easy to turn. Maybe I'll get used to it, but for now I'm not a fan of the placement.

Other than that I love everything about the scope. If you're a magnification whore like I am then this is the be all and end all of scopes.

Before/after pics. Before is a NF 5.5-22x56 on a 40 MOA base. After is the Terminator in low or medium rings on Chinese riser rails. The middle pic shows the issue I ran into with the rings.

That thing is a hawg! Keep us up to speed after some range time. I am especially intrested in the optical quality in the higher mag range after you have had some time behind it.

Looks very good on that DTA! Any chance of some more pics, such as the reticle and some shot groups made using it?

As far as the placement of the parallax adjustment, there are some good reasons to put it up front, although the difficulty in reaching it may be more trouble than a side adjuster:

All I had a chance to do today was get it sighted in at 100 at a bench. Whoopie. Here's a group, using 168 FGMM. It looks to be a .5MOA 5 shot group.

I had a trip planned to go out to my ranch to shoot further, but my other shooter bailed this morning so I just stayed local. I have a trip planned to go out and shoot further this week.
