The Brown truck or happniess arrived at my office today with goodies from Liberty Optics. (Pics to follow as soon as the AADmounts arrive}. I got the 2.5-10x42 FFP and the 3.5-18x50 35mm scopes. Man maybe its the coatins or just the quality but looking thru IOR optics with my blasted corrective lenses..the world just works. I am looking for some things laying around for things I can sell to get another one....why stop when you are on a roll.

I should say...I am a IOR fan from the first gen 3-18 SH edition I bought in the first batch that hit our shores.

Re: IOR Valdada Arrived and Wow They Are Clear

Got my IOR 3.5x15x50 a couple of weeks ago, and yes, the clarity of the glass is truly amazing. I was banging steel last weekend at 700 with it on my 6.5 Grendel, and I had never shot at anything approaching that range before.

The reticle is the best I've used.

Re: IOR Valdada Arrived and Wow They Are Clear

attherange, I am looking at the 2-12 Spartan too. I have to say I am in love with that damn digital illumination on that 3.5-18..thats really rocks vs a rheostat knob.

Re: IOR Valdada Arrived and Wow They Are Clear

The glass on all the IOR's I've had has always been amazing, and the modified MP-8 they did for the SH 3-18 FFP is a very good reticle design.

Re: IOR Valdada Arrived and Wow They Are Clear

Purchased an IOR 6-24x50 a few months ago after canceling my PST order and now whenever someone pays me compliment at the range for my Nightforce I cant help but pull out the IOR and show it off to them

I agree. I love my USOs but I'm REALLY thinking about giving the new 3.5-18 a try. Maybe if a few months go by and still no negative reports.

Illya said in his optics review thread thing that his 3.5-18x50 had particles inside the eyepiece

It tracked and worked fine otherwise though.

Hopefully that's just a one-off.

Oh yeah, I think he said his leupold m5 sample had a canted reticle...

Re: IOR Valdada Arrived and Wow They Are Clear

I bought a 2-12x32 from Scott at Liberty and I would agree with above - super optic. It is for a lightweight Grendel 18" AR and what I like most about the scope is how compact it is. It looks tiny next to my USO 1.8-10x37. I don't think it gives up anything on optic quality either to the USO despite having a small objective lens. I don't love the MOA turrets/MIL reticle but I'm comfortable doing the math quickly: 3mil = 10.2moa, etc

Great value on a great product.

Re: IOR Valdada Arrived and Wow They Are Clear

funny, JamesBailey, that is exactly what I have for coyote rifle also, a lightweight 6.5 grendel saber defense 18inch with PWS brake and an IOR 2-12.

Re: IOR Valdada Arrived and Wow They Are Clear

I've got am IOR 6x24 that does double duty on an AR204 and Grendel uppers---obviously saving for more glass--love their MP8
reticle --wish I could try all of them out before making a decision but no dealers around--have to rely on Hide members

Therein lies the IOR rub in my experience...

BUT-they have come a long, long way in a relatively short time lately-both in quality and CS so I hope they keep up the good work.

If anyone has IOR purchase quandries I'd highly suggest talking to Liberty Optics. Scott's a straigth shooter and will let you what his experience has been with different models.

Yes, it does have a zero stop
Yes, it does have an illuminated reticle
ILYA's test scope in his review is the first 3.5-18x50 that has had a defect, a speck inside the lens, that I have heard about on this site. It was still mechanically sound

IOR has come a long way. I have talked to Val a number of times and he appreciates feedback and suggestions.

FWIW, I have 2 of the 3.5-18X50's, one mounted on a 7WSM and the other on a 260 REM. Only a couple hundred rounds through each one but they behave as they should and the optics are really first rate. One can always find a criticism about some aspect of any scope, but you would be hard pressed to find a better scope for even $500 to $700 more at retail. My other scopes are Premiers and Hensoldts. They are great scopes. But they are 75% to 100% more expensive, and they are in no way the same percentages better, and in some aspects are near equals. This of course as long as they are mechanically reliable over time, the concern expressed by others. Value for value, the IOR stands out IMO.

And yes, Scott is the only go to guy for anything IOR, a good guy and first rate retailer.

Re: IOR Valdada Arrived and Wow They Are Clear

AADmount showed up yesterday and I mounted it last night. Scope is kick ass and the mount is well built like a tank. Both belong on top of a DTA Scout.

Re: IOR Valdada Arrived and Wow They Are Clear

I've got the Valdada IOR 4-14x50 30mm SF Tactical Scope Illuminated MP-8 Dot Reticule MSR$1395, and I have friends that Nightforce and S&B optics. They paid 2-3 times as much and I must tell you, the glass in my IOR is just as good as the NF. The S&B (to me) has a little better glass but definitely not worth paying double the money. For the price of one S&B, I can buy 2 IOR's.
