Took a trip to the range and brought along my Televue 76 and turned my little travel telescope into a spotter, which worked out perfectly. Thought I'd share a quick video of a couple shots at 637 yards taken with an iPhone held against the eyepiece. Trace is easily seen. http://youtu.be/9gEQqZV3ypE

Anyone know of a simple/cheap way to clamp the iPhone so it stays in place over the eyepiece? I used the YouTube stabilizer which took out most of the shakes, but I think it might introduce some other digital noise into the video.

You can find an adapter made by Meopta (other makers have released similar products, as well), but rather than pay the $60-70, I would just make one out of supplies found at the hardware store. I bought an adapter, then made my own. I prefer the homemade version.

Or make your own by gluing a piece of pvc that fits over your eye piece to s cheap snap on phone cover.

Works great!
