An article ini Nature linked solar activity with increased plate teuctonics and vulcaniism. But the USGS or NOAA or someone wrote an article refuting it.
I wonder if their article 'refuting it' was designed to point to everything being because of climate change... not solar periods and similar effects that you can't fix by raising taxes and screaming "How Dare You."
That said, 'supposedly' the number of quakes and volcano's is right in line with 'normal numbers.' I guess that the 'normal numbers' are more interesting when they happen in Southern Europe than, say, The Philippinies or some other third world craphole.
Be interesting to do a deep dive on the statistics on this.
And despite the exhortations that 'all is well' with solar events whacking our upper Van Allen belts or whatever they are... I am not so sure!
