got the new 700 from the group buy back, stock on scope rings all set up then it happens.
I load up the 5 round AX 308 mag load the first one in fine, slide the bolt back live round comes out about 1/3 way out and falls flat on to the other loaded rounds in the mag.
I drop the other round out, push the bolt feeding the next round from the mag in to the chamber, Rack the action fast kicks the round out to the side.
I do this back and forth till the mag is empty, reload the mag and repeat a few times.
so here it happens all the time if I pull the bolt back slowly, and its about 50-50% when I run the bolt back fast.
I have taken the bolt out of the action and look at the extractor and ejector.
Ejector has no play in it and seams to be working as it should.
i check the extractor it moves a little in side the bolt front to back, never really looked at the extractor before, i take it that is the issue?
If i try to take the extractor out clean it with some solvent would it go back in just to check to see if it will do the same thing with out hurting the bolt or the gun?

few additives to help out with this
Gun new in box 308 adl loaded live rounds and cycled it before shipping off and worked fine,
had the gun full blue printed and fluted bolt along with a new coating.
ive read that a lot of times doing mill work and such to the bolt can cause this type of issue.

so what do you guys think? im hoping its just the extractor but i haven't had an issue like this before so im not sure

I ordered a new one from midway usa along with a few other small things and a cleaning rod long story short nothing but the rod showed up box all ripped up and taped back on other items lost and they have no more extractors. well last time i order any thing from midway called there customer support they act like its my fault.

well thanks for all of your help
Dave

It sounds like the force of the ejector is pushing the rim past the extractor, meaning the extractor has an issue of some sort.

Is this rifle from Chad's group buy? If so, I'm sure he'd like the opportunity to help you get it working properly.

If this is the factory Remington extractor, you will be very lucky to get it out and back in on your first try without damaging it (they are designed to be discarded when removed and it takes a lot of practice to get them in and out without bending them).

If you need a new extractor, you can order it from PTG: https://shop.pacifictoolandgauge.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=224 (If PTG is out as well and you need your rifle, I have one backup in my personal stash I can send you, just PM me).

Sorry you are having trouble, but I'm sure if you contact the smith that did your work he will help to make it right.
