I bought the PTG Stealth bottom metal for Short action Remington. Was hopeing they could supply a install print or something. They could not. I dont want to do a hack job with a sharpy and a chisel. Does anyone have something to help? I have seen that people say they have a Badger Ord. print to machine the inlet, I would have thought PTG had one.

thanks,

I've got my rifle under the knife right now getting a PTG bottom metal. He's using long studs to go into the action and that stick up a couple inches above or below the stock whichever way you look at it. He's then sliding it down and marking where it touches to then remove the material. I've also learned that when it gets close you need to have a mag in it loaded so you can adjust the angle slightly. Talking .01 differences between front and rear. I was going to attempt this myself then voted to pay someone.

I took a look at the Badger one and it came out different than the PTG also. PTG said they did not have an install sheet for it, thats why I thought I would try here. Even the badger print useless. That's not a print, thats a template to trace the outline. I will come up with a dimensioned print for the profile and post it here when I am done.

Here's a drawing I made to create the CAM file to inlet for a PTG stealth Remington SA. Last week I inletted my B&C, I opened up the size .003 from whats shown so the fit wasn't so snug.
