Is this a crimp or something else?

Hello gurus, help a newbie out! I have some fired winchester brass that has these crimp like grooves at the mouth. They all also seem to have larger headspace numbers when I gauge them than my other brass. Is this some kind of crimp? Is it safe to reload this?

Yes its a crimp. I noticed all my LC 12 and LC13 M855 have that type of crimp.

Yep its a crimp, I have a batch of 243 win bass exactly the same. It shoots and reloads just fine, go for it.

Yeah, it's a stab crimp from factory ammo. Resize like you normally would, check your case length and trim to min specs, and you will find that most of that gnarly factory crimp will be gone. As the others said, it's really a non-issue.
