I do wonder how well that propane tank would stabilize. I dont see much air going through those fins, with the tank being so fat and the fin so close.

Well if we ever go CWII here and it goes on for longer than folks think, we might find a quite a lot of improvised weapons systems being used, probably a bit more high tech, but maybe not.

The "nebelwerfer" setup, the multiple launch rocket system was probably the best/safest setup they had.
I heard they actually have a few weapon designers that can design and build viable weapon systems, although most of those did not look it. With the exception of the multiple rocket launcher.
That 120mm with the oven sized brake has to be more like a mortar at best. Most of the charge is just being blown away. What a bunch of junk. They'd have been better off IMO using spring loaded spigot mortars and mass producing their own shells. Instead of a million shitty designs. Oh well, maybe it's all they had to work with since they squandered so much.

You don't think there would be some concussive damage on a 300+fps impact? I would think that the tank would shatter and all that liquid fuel igniting and being dispersed at once would cause a significant pressure wave... I've only blown up one of those small, green Coleman bottles, but it blew out a lantern about thirty yards away. Obviously not anywhere near a cellulous or putty explosive, but a pretty good improvisation if it would actually hold together and survive being launched from a tube.

While that is true, air has to flow over a darts fins, same as an arrow or a mortar. The thing is so short and the tank so fat, I question how much actual air gets to the fins.
Assuming it is just filled with propane yes. I see it as a flying pressure cooker, filled with explosives. They have welded fittings to it to put what ever they like inside.

FWIW the propane tank contraption is called a "Lob Bomb". It is filled with explosives and shrapnel.
They are also used to deliver chemical agents, particularly chlorine gas in Syria.

In high school I made a cannon that shot those lil V8 juice cans filled wth sand. We didnt have rangefinders but with homemade bp and pull down powder they would go atleast a mile. Pretty sad when FFA kids build better shit than your army.
