Islam. The religion of peace.

Most religions claim to be a religion of peace. They also claim to be the one true religion. Throughout history wars have been fought in the name of one deity or another. Ancient religions have had multiple deities, naming various inanimate objects, animals and even humans as gods. The majority of any religion blames extremists for any transgressions that might have been done in the name of their religion. Most people cling to the religion they were raised up with. When I discovered my religion was just a sham, I gave it and any other organized religions up.
I think a cartoon I once saw in a Playboy magazine sums it all up:
Two pre-historic "cavemen" were walking down a path. Each had 'tails'. One turned to the other and said, "I don't care what anybody says, God made me in his own image!" ;)

Excellent point made there. The term is called 'indifferentism'. Primitive, basic religions such as those of the Assyrians, Hittites, etc. are purely utilitarian. They are used as political leverage to keep the people following one goal. Deities are called upon to grant good harvest and victory in war. There is no deeper philosophy involved other than to serve an immediate purpose.

For further details, refer to H. Beam Piper's kickass and mind-fucking 1951 sci-fi short story titled Temple Trouble. It is actually one part of his Paratime series of stories involving a very advanced terrestrial civilization which had discovered 'alternate probability lines' populated by all kinds of other civilizations. In Temple Trouble, a primitive culture's religion was manipulated in order to serve the purposes of the First Level invaders who had infiltrated it's timeline in order to mine it's nuclear resources.

It is a VERY good read. I highly recommend it and all of this author's works. This is the full version of Temple Trouble in audiobook form:

So......
I posted this video for two reasons;
1. To introduce Brigitte to those who may not have heard her before,
2. Because of her spot-on argument about the silent majority

This post was originally removed because of the religion rule. Tucker reviewed it and reposted it because the content wasn’t about religion at all.

So I suggest we don’t get into religious banter in the comments section or it may get pulled again.
