I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced this as well.
Issue, When I use my Swarovski range finder I get ---- at the botton often times and I cannot understand why. sometimes I am ranging something 100 or 200 yards away and it still give me the same reading---- I have read in the manual as to when it can happen but I am ranging a tree or aeven a solid item and it does that. But at time I can get reading as far as 1700 yards also. If I hit a branch or a tree or something closer should it not give a reading atlest? any feedback would be appreciated. its pretty frustrating when you do not get a reading at all regardless of distance

Re: Issue with Swarovski Laser Rangefinder

As good as they are, they do sometimes seem touchy. I know with mine that I really have to keep it steady while it's taking a reading. Also, if there are any competing objects within the aiming circle, whether nearer or farther away, that can confuse the reading.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe it indicates that it didn't get a "lock". That the return signal was not solid enough.

When I was testing a Laser Guide I got that once in awhile, but a second attempt at lasing usually got the range.

My Leica will do the same once in awhile.
