Haven't been on here in some time and was asking about a budget Midwest deer rifle. I went with a Savage Axis II chambered in .350 Legend. I'll need a scope and possible some kind of mouting system. From the description it's button rifled. How rough are these barrels when they come from the factory? Any need to do any fire lapping or just a break-in shooting? From what I could feel and hear, the bolt catch is quite loud (at least to my ears). Does that quiet down after breaking it in a bit?
