Had fled Italy 20 years ago and established a total new identity as chef & local fruits/veg store owner. Police finally traced him to living somewhere in Spain… and then was eventually id’d via Google Maps street view.

That’s some pretty damn tenacious investigation.

Of course he coulda just been ratted out, and they’re protecting their informant? Who knows..

Very nice investigation. But still less impressive than the time 4chan figured out where Shia LaBeouf "hid" a flag by tracking stars and airplane contrails in less than 48 hours after it was placed, and then put up a MAGA flag instead.
