Its aliens I tell ya, its aliens.

I believe there was some type of (change) to our DNA in the distant past. I dont believe we came straight from monkeys. We are too advanced, different then anything on this planet. Monkeys still fling shit at each other and we have automated rovers on distant planets. The gap is way too big.

The gap between today's humans is space travel and poo flingers.

We didn’t come straight from monkeys though. There were a lot of steps in between over millions of years.

That being said, neither I nor anyone else has concrete proof that aliens don’t exist. In fact, it’s almost a mathematical certainty that there is life out there. To think we’re alone in the universe is pure hubris, and like Carl Sagan once said, if we really are alone, it seems like an awful waste of space.

We share 98.6% of our DNA with Chimps(not monkeys). We most certainly share a common ancestor with them, but there are many steps in between. Most interesting thing to me is how far back early humans go. I seem to recall it was tens of thousands of years when I was in school, now we’re sneaking up on a million years. Crazy.

We seem to learn more over the years...and forget more the older we get too. <hic, burp...>

We didn't evolve from monkeys. We evolved together and our species split and went in one direction which eventually became modern humans thorough evolution. The monkeys we see today are descendent of the species that did not evolve but still propagated much like alligators and sharks.

The gap between today's humans is space travel and poo flingers.

That's because we as a society have tried our damnedest to not allow the poo flingers to kill themselves off. Because of that, poo flingers breed with other versions of poo flingers to make exceptionally stupid poo flingers who take pride in flinging, and create a following and sub culture all it's own, further cementing poo flingers and the attraction to be a flinger for generations to come.

Why did some monkeys get left behind? Seems there should be some in betweeners hanging about.

Maybe someone bumped them off?
Sneaky fucking Russians again I'm betting.
All animals are very good at protecting their niche. If it weren't their niche, it would be someone else's. Why aren't there any neanderthals left? Modern humans, inter-bred, out-bred, and out-killed them. Why did monkeys and chimps get left behind? Well, they did and they did not. It's not like hominids are the only primates to have evolved over the past million years. The non-human primates that we have today evolved to be better and better survivors within their ecological niche. Humans went the other way. We expanded and varied our diet- gained access to ready supplies of protein (Most other primates are vegetarians). This protein boost allowed us to increase our brain capacity. This allows for more abstract thinking, problem solving, tool use, etc. Instead of being specialists, humans became generalists. We thrive in every terrestrial habitat on earth, except for the very poles. Most people don't have a concept of 1 human life time. 5 million years is an unfathomable amount of time...

It's a pretty interest subject... This dude posits that it's entirely possible that humanity has been around a lot longer than popularly believed, and periodic catastrophic events come around every now and then and fuck everything up. Pretty interesting Joe Rogan conversation.

Have you seen liberals? Not much above monkeys. No we didnt come from monkeys. Current monkeys and us came from and diverged (in theory) from a common ancestor. However I think its more complex than just simply that.

I also believe this to be possible. Lost civilizations and societies. Built up...brought down. And so the cycle continues.

By the way, is the "missing link" still missing?

Trump derides Oscars organization for choosing a terrible movie "Parasite" as best movie of the year.
Producers of "Parasite" reply, it was totally understandable that Trump did not like Parasite as the 1st foreign film to win the best picture oscar from South Korea as it had close captions and since Trump cannot read...

His 'climate change' theories are interesting too. But I really like his mass events theories. Basically saying that the ice glacier flows didn't carve the valleys and riverbeds over long periods of time but an ice dam would hold A LOT of water and suddenly break causing these mass erosion events that would happen in minutes/hours/days not eons. He presents some convincing evidence.

I'm not familiar with the movie. Is it about democrats? How "close" were were the captions? Maybe too close to read?

Houston used to be the oil, money and pussy capital of the world.

Then came Democrats.
Democrats probably havent messed Houston up as much as some other large cities (looking at you Chi Town), but it’s pretty bad. Mayor recently got exposed for hiring a family friend as an intern and paid them $90k. How does Houston respond? Re-elects him a month later.

You are correct. Austin is way more messed up, Dallas lost, as well and recently seen man buns in Fort Worth.

And to make matters worse out of state limp wrist anti 2A bitches getting into our politics.

I wish them all be damned.

If Trump can't read, and Trump beat Killery, what does that say about her?

Humans share 90% of their DNA with the "standard" house cat.

Scientists say with the rate of DNA mutations they can then extrapolate how long ago humans and cats "shared" a common ancestor.

I also read that bananas, yes BANANAS share 60% DNA with humans.

Of course where this all leads to is that all life on earth originated from a single organism. And that single organism was either delivered to earth from space or perhaps just popped into existence out of the "right soupy" mixture of chemicals, protiens, light, heat, ect.

Its not a far stretch right? That one (or one type of) organism on a an initially sterile (and hostile) earth evolved over billions of years into billions and billions of diverse organisms (both current and extinct).

Or perhaps there really is something missing...yet to be discovered that can explain the DNA commonality in all of earths biology.

If alien life does exist, would we also share DNA?

My bet would be yes.

A Texas viewpoint on aliens.

Are they the normal criminal illegals that cross our borders every damn day?

Or are they extraterrestrial border jumpers.

Are they clasified as invasive species?
Non game animals?

Are they tasty?

Is a head or shoulder mount politically correct?

Can I claim the first one shot a state, world or galactic record?

So many concerns from a Texas point of aim.

Ack ack. We come in peace

This thread is funny. Scholars from Sniper's Hide University discuss the Origin of the Species.

Well,...yeah LoL.

Anyways, if life on earth was delivered to earth from space, which IMO seems more plausable than spontaneuos creation from a chemical soup...

Then would that life have arrived all at the same time? Meteors and space rocks have been hitting the earth for billions of years.

Perhaps all "universal" life shares DNA.

If you are trying to convince me, lemme stop you there.

My questions were rhetorical.

Interesting concept and as valid as any other.
