================================

This is the United States Special Operations Command's Long Range Precision Sniper Rifle in .338 Lapua Magnum, as specified for the US Army Special Operations Command. It will be topped with a Schmidt-Bender 5-25 PM II. The contract is for the entire turn-key system (minus scope and other optics) -- just add sniper. The contract includes new equipment team training and depot maintenance services at the manufacturer.

It is for SOCOM and NOT for the Leg Army, nor for the Marine Corps -- those two competitions may come later, or they may just exercise the government option and strap-hang on SOCOM's contract.

The Remington M2010 (.300 Win Mag MSR) remains Leg Army's bolt-action bridge to a PSR.

Remington needs to leave NY. Don't those PSR's have more than 7 rd mags?

Hope the Barnes ammo is better than the .308 Match Remington I foolishly bought several years ago to test a Savage rifle out. Decided to check the runout, about half were more than .004", one, you could see the .015" runout just rolling it on a tabletop!

Just keep in mind that SOCOM procurements don't always run their full course. I'll wait and see if the units end up liking this rifle or opt for something different for mission use (which is an option in our SOP). Remember the M24E1 (XM2010) was not accepted well because of it's newer chassis system and most units stuck with the A3 if .338 was utilized.
